You choose what to eat - KFC/McD?

You choose what to wear - skirt/pants?
You choose what colour - red/blue?
You choose what to study - medical/engineering?
You choose where to go - England/China?
You choose which car to drive - Proton/BMW?
You choose which band to listen - Aerosmith/Linkin park?
You choose which hairdresser to go to - X saloon/Y saloon?
You choose which party to vote – BN/DAP?
You choose how to travel - bus/train?
You choose how to spend your day off - sleep/outing?
But, above all of the choices that we make every day, the most difficult (for me) would be...
Choice of LOVE...
Agree?
Someone told me: there’s neither good choice or bad choice; nor right choice or wrong choice in this world. There’s only choosing the best choice.
This phrase gave me very much impact when I deal with choices. However, when it comes to love, I still think it’s easier said than done.
I guess there’re a few criteria in love before you have the chance of making decision. As the Chinese old saying 天时,地利,人和 which means right timing, right place and right person. Without any of the three criteria, love will not work.
Let’s do some calculation:
Right timing + right place + wrong person = obviously no chemistry
Right timing + wrong place + right person = too bad
Wrong timing + right place + right person = regrets, sad case
Well, we can go on forever by doing the equations, but it’s unsolvable. All of them will give a negative answer.
So if you passed the timing and place and right person. Congratulations, you have reached the final step: to decide whether you want to be with that person or not.
On the other hand, what if right timing + right place + (n>1) right person?
My, my.. the maths is getting tougher. That’s why I say choices in love are very difficult. Get what I mean now?
You still passed the timing and place and right person, but you have the choice to opt for A or B. A and B both has unique attributes and you like both of them; sometimes you’ll wish to blend them both to create a perfect human being. Nevertheless, there’s no perfection in this world. So, still stuck at the part of picking the best person. Remember, as I’ve mentioned at the beginning: there’s neither good choice or bad choice; nor right choice or wrong choice in this world. There’s only selecting the best choice. But how?
I’ve thought through thoroughly. (Hehe, for fun, try reading that in high speed!) If two of them have the unique characteristics which you liked and it’s painful to make decision. In my opinion, turn the ball around and be selfish! Choose the one that bring the best out of you.
Loving a person and choosing to be with the person is two different things. Loving a person can be a single direction, but choosing to be with the one is a process of matching, blending, fitting, merging, joining, integrating, combining, unifying, amalgamating! So much of chemistry needed for this complexity.
Now, let’s talk about some chemistry:
1 independent excellent atom + 1 individual superior atom = ? molecule
There are many possibilities, depending on the quality of each atom and characteristics after the combination. Therefore, it depends whether you want to create venomous potion, or extraordinary concoction. That’s what I mean about choosing the best person that can bring the best out of you. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
Alas, if love is as easy as mathematics or chemistry…
